Shaheen Touts Net Neutrality at UNH Forum

Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and a free and open internet is critical to their future.

That was the general consensus among speakers at a forum on net neutrality hosted by U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., on Thursday at the University of New Hampshire.

Shaheen said her constituents are overwhelmingly in favor of keeping net neutrality rules the way they are. Last December, the Federal Communications Commission voted to dismantle rules regulating the businesses that connect consumers to the internet, granting broadband companies the power to potentially reshape Americans’ online experiences.
